Monday 17th & 24th March 2014 (7.45pm for 8 till 10 pm)

The next two evenings are all about that thorny subject of judging. First of all Phillip Pound will provide an in depth look at all aspects of judging. The second week we will look at some pictures and members will provide critique themselves.

If you are new to photography, and are thinking of joining us, please feel free to come along. You can attend a few of our meetings with no obligation or charge, to see if we suit you.

Please note that the main doors will be locked at 8pm, please ring twice to gain admittance after this time.

See 2014-15 Programme for further details of our forthcoming events.

And click Facebook to view the club's Facebook account (opens in a new window). Please note that, as with all Facebook accounts, everyone has the ability to see parts, or all of the SLPS account. Do not post anything that will damage your own reputation, or that of SLPS.

The South London Photographic Society (known affectionately as SLPS) was founded in 1889, and is one of the oldest photographic societies in the Country. But don't be put off by our grand name - 'photographic society' is just a posh name for camera club.

We are a small, friendly group of amateur photographers who meet together regularly on an informal basis.

We cover the full range of levels – from beginner to expert. And the whole age range, from teenager to Senior citizen.

Most of our members now shoot digital, producing images in both colour and black and white. A number also use colour slides. Whatever your interest, you will find an outlet for your creative talent. We offer free digital imaging tuition on a one to one basis, so if you are having trouble, or would just like to know more, we are here to help

We meet every Monday evening (not Bank Holidays), from September through till July in the Baptist Church hall on Perry Rise, Sydenham, South London (close to Forest Hill). Our programme includes talks, lectures, demonstrations, visits, competitions and practical evenings. The hall has easy disabled access via a ramp. There are also tea and coffee making facilities (with biscuits!) and toilets.

Please have a look through our website. Whether your are just starting out in photography, returning to it after a break, or a serious practitioner looking to refine your technique, we would be delighted to see you at one of our meetings.

FIRST YEAR MEMBERSHIP FEE JUST £45..
